Fire Safe CF8 Stainless Steel 4 Inch HP Butterfly Valve For European Market
What are High-Performance Butterfly Valves?
A double offset butterfly valve is an HP Butterfly Valve rated for ANSI (285 @ 100F or 100 psig @ 400F for 150# ANSI) rated applications. For this type of valve, the disc and stem are double offset, (set back behind the disc and to the side) causing the disc to rotate into place upon closure without significant seat contact. Different from an RSBFV, the stem is located behind the disc, which enables the disc to “rub” over the seat in the last 10% of travel, during the 90-degree rotation.
This seat usually is some type of Reinforced PTFE or for high temperatures above 450F, the seat can be metal, usually a hardened metal, like Stellite. The most user-friendly allow removal/replacement of the stem, disc, and seat without welding
Features
Positive shaft retention | Positive shaft retention prevents movement for the shaft past the compression plate. |
Positive shut off | Flexible-lip polymeric seat assures positive shut-off, compensating for wear to extend life. |
Easy maintenance | Only the insert needs to be removed to replace the seat. The insert and seat are self-aligning. |
Low Torque requirements |
Low output torque requirements allow the use of less costly actuators.
|
Wide pressure range | Available in 150Lb to 600Lb. Pressure classes- in wafer, in single flanged lugged designs. |
Broad range of materials | Available in a broad range of materials for standard and special services including chlorine, oxygen, cryogenics and vacuum. |
About the seat
Soft seated: Bi-directional seat with encapsulated elastomeric o-ring for resiliency. Common sea materials include PTFE, RPTFE and UHMWPE.
Metal Seated: TEKO metal seat with metal back-up ring to accomplished by the line contact between a spherical surface and conical surface.
Fire safe seat: Double seat design, bi-directional soft sea design for zero-leakage in normal operation and a metal-to-metal seal after fire, meeting or exceeding industry ”fire-safe” requirements.
